Western Pennsylvania dominates ESDAA volleyball tourney

The 37th annual ESDAA (Eastern Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association) volleyball tournament had 11 schools and 10 teams on the campus of American School for the Deaf last weekend. Pennsylvania and New Jersey Schools for the Deaf combined forces to compete as a single team.

Western Pennsylvania successfully defended their ESDAA championship in a strong fashion by sweeping all matches. The championship game between Western Pennsylvania and Marie Philip School was a rematch of the two schools from the SpikeOut championship game that was held in early October at Maryland School for the Deaf. The outcome was the same with Western Pennsylvania coming out on top for their second straight ESDAA title. Cheyenne Sloan of Western Pennsylvania was recognized as the tournament MVP.
