Saturday was a long day for Riverside, as it fell to Connelly 11-1.

Connelly scored five runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Connelly came thanks to a groundout, a double by Jimenez, and a groundout by Gomez.

Janae Blakely went 1-for-2 at the plate as she led the team with one run batted in.

Connelly collected eight hits. Mourani, Resong, and Jimenez each collected multiple hits for Connelly. Mourani went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Connelly in hits. Connelly didn't commit a single error in the field. Resong had the most chances in the field with five.

Maryland won their season opener at home against Harford Christian. Ashlynn Cohen was 1 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs. Kaela Luttrell struck out five in 6-2/3 innings.

Despite the loss, Riverside did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Connelly had 13 hits on the way to victory.

Riverside captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Janae Blakely drove in one run when she singled.

Connelly took the lead for good with nine runs in the first inning. In the first Kathleen Lopez uncorked a wild pitch, scoring two runs, Michael singled off of Lopez, driving in one run, Gonzalez singled off of Lopez, driving in two runs, Lopez uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run, Lopez uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run, and Jimenez singled off of Lopez, driving in two runs.

Maricela Galarza, Lily DeSimone, and Blakely each collected multiple hits for Riverside. DeSimone went 2-for-4 at the plate as she led the team with two runs batted in.

Michael, Jimenez, and Resong each collected multiple hits for Connelly. Connelly was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gomez made the most plays with three.

Texas took the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Savio on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Texas batting in the top of the sixth when Leila Sicioli singled off of Brennan, driving in one run.

Savio took an early lead in the second inning. A sacrifice bunt by Maloney scored one run for Savio.

Texas had ten hits in the game. Marcela Brentham and Mia Upchurch each collected multiple hits for Texas. Upchurch and Brentham all had two hits to lead Texas.

Riverside scored five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Alexandra Monge, a single by Lily DeSimone, a double by Kathleen Lopez, and a wild pitch.

Lutheran La Verne scored six runs in the sixth inning. Lutheran La Verne's big inning was driven by two singles and two walks.

Lopez led Riverside with two hits in four at bats.

Model fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-0 loss to Sidwell Friends on Tuesday. Sidwell Friends scored on a triple and two stolen bases in the first inning.

A single by Justina Wood in the fourth inning was a positive for Model.

Wood went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Model in hits.

Sidwell Friends collected eight hits and was sure-handed in the field with no errors.
