Texas stayed in it until the end, but St. Dominic Savio pulled away late in a 10-8 victory. The game was tied at seven with St. Dominic Savio batting in the bottom of the sixth.

Emma Giuntoli drove in four runners in the loss. Giuntoli drove in runs on a groundout in the first, a triple in the third, and a home run in the fifth.

Texas tallied five runs in the third inning. Texas's offense in the inning came from an error on a ball put in play by Jaelene Etkie and Leila Sicoli, a triple by Giuntoli, and a single by Michaela Kelley.

Brannam of St. Dominic Savio allowed eight hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Giuntoli took the mound for Texas lasting six innings, allowing four hits and ten runs while striking out three.

Texas collected eight hits. Giuntoli, Kelley, and Etkie all managed multiple hits while Giuntoli led Texas with three hits in four at bats.

Lameu went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead St. Dominic Savio in hits. St. Dominic Savio stole 11 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Rivera led the way with three.

Riverside watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 25-0 loss to Carnegie Schools-Riverside.

Carnegie Schools-Riverside got things moving in the first inning, when Johnson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, scored on a single by Genesis Johnson, a single by Missy Davis, a walk by Victoria Mc Mains, a single by Mandy Flores, and a grand slam by Hailee Riboni in the first inning.

Davis pitched for Carnegie Schools-Riverside going five innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Thalia Bunda started the game for Riverside allowing seven hits and 16 runs over two and a third innings, striking out two. Brenda Vargas and Aspen Goldstein entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Carnegie Schools-Riverside racked up 17 hits on the day. Flores, Amber Benavidez, Mc Mains, Johnson, and Davis all managed multiple hits for Carnegie Schools-Riverside. Flores led Carnegie Schools-Riverside with four hits in four at bats.

Texas watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 17-11 loss to Central Texas Christian on Tuesday despite out-hitting Central Texas Christian 11 to seven.

Central Texas Christian got things moving in the second inning, when Reed was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, walk by Reed, a walk by Johnson, a double by Ware, and a grand slam by Tharpe.

Texas tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Texas batters contributing to the big inning included Jaelene Etkie, Emma Giuntoli, Jewel Rocha, and Sarah Helm, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Ware pitched for Central Texas Christian surrendering five runs on six hits over four innings.

Giuntoli led things off on the hill for Texas allowing seven hits and 17 runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

Central Texas Christian smacked two home runs on the day. Ware put one out in the sixth inning. Tharpe had a four bagger in the second inning.

Texas totaled 11 hits with Sunita Schmidjorg, Michaela Kelley, and Giuntoli all having multiple hits for Texas. Giuntoli, Kelley, and Schmidjorg each collected three hits.

Central Texas Christian tallied seven hits in the game and Tharpe led the team with three hits in four at bats.

Cochlear Implants A Game Changer For Deaf Softball Player

Oakdale HSOAKDALE (CBS13) – She was born genetically deaf, but eighth-grader Amanda Bricker isn’t letting it stop her.

Larry Loger coaches varsity softball at Oakdale High School where Amanda will go next year.

“I’ve never seen her use it as a crutch,” Loger said. “She’s a hard worker so I don’t think it’s ever going to be a problem for her.”
