District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA) announced the Student-Athlete Scholarship Program Winners

District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA) announced the Student-Athlete Scholarship Program Winners.

There were a total of 15 winners of the DCSAA Student-Athlete Academic Scholarship Program. The winners were chosen based by their academic, leadership and sportsmanship achievements. Each will receive a scholarship of $1,000 toward tuition and costs next school year thanks to the DCSAA's partnership with Wendy's restaurants:

Jorge and Wilford were one of two student-athletes selected from the same school (Model Secondary School for the Deaf).

"Once again we are amazed at the contributions of these young men and women," DCSAA Executive Director Clark Ray said. "And we are thrilled to be able to help them in the next stage of their careers. We are especially appreciative of Wendy's support of the Scholarship Program."

The winners were honored at a reception on Wednesday, May 31st.
