First annual charity basketball game (MPD VS MSSD) to be held April 15, 2018

2018 MPD vs MSSD Charity BasketballWatch the Metropolitan Police Department vs. the Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles in a basketball game for charity.

Date and time: April 15, 2018, 1-4 p.m.
Location: MSSD Gym

The proceeds will go to Deaf Reach, Inc.

A D.C. based Non-profit organization that offers mental health services, day-habilitation, counseling, group homes, community support, supported employment, interpreting services, and independent living skills for our members and community members that are deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing and deaf with additional diagnoses. Deaf Reach was established to offer a place to go for many deaf people whom were institutionalized at Saint Elizabeth's. Our aim, since 1972, has been to ensure all of the people we serve, have meaningful lives, empowering them to define what meaningful means to them.

Mental health awareness is very important especially to our linguistic minority community that often has limited access to these services.

Adults $15

Students $10 at the door with valid ID

Children under 10 years of age get in free.
