It's nice to follow up a win with another one the next night. We're still far from perfect but will take a 2-0 start to the season. We improved in some areas of our game, but regressed in some others. We will need our bench players to start to step up soon if we want to maintain this nice momentum we've got going for us now. Girls Basketball

floridaTaylor Pierson 27 Florida 21

Yesterday night, the Varsity Lady Dragons had our third straight game at Taylor (Pierson). Our girls were not 100% physically and mentally ready for the game. We moved slowly on both offenses and defenses. We missed many shots near the basket. We made many turnovers. However, we know the girls will work hard and improve some during our practices. Boys Basketball

In the first quarter, we took the control with a 16-point lead at 20-4. For the next two quarters, our boys got too comfortable and did not play hard on offense but did well with our defense. As we went into the 4th quarter, we were up by 16 points. GMWS finally found their offense as we continued to struggle with ours and they made a big 13-4 in the first five minutes and our lead shrunk to 42-31. We fought hard with our defense which allowed us to stop GMWS’ offense. With an under minute left, we took control of the game with our defense and didn’t allow GMWS any more points. Sophomore Jaykuss played very well with 17 points and two assists. Junior Alnord added 11 points and nine rebounds. (Contributed by Head Coach Nicolas Tegni)
