The 5th annual Berg & Seeger Classic held at the Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind in Tucson saw a total of 11 meet records fall along with a close finish for the girls championship. Up to the final event, Fremont girls team held a one point lead over Model at 109 to 108. Minnesota was in third 102 points. In the final 4 x 400M relay event, only three schools ran in this event. Fremont did not run in the last event so it was a given that Model would win the Berg & Seeger Classic regardless of where they finished in the event. Minnesota needed to finish better than second place to leapfrog over Fremont for second place. Minnesota's relay team shattered the meet record by almost 7 seconds to take first with a time of 4:50.48 and Model came in second in a time of 5:58.01. With the first place finish by Minnesota, Fremont fell to third place with a final score of 109. Model won the Berg & Seeger championship with 116 points and Minnesota was second with 112 points.
For the boys championship, Fremont ran away from the pack with 152 points for first place. Maryland and Riverside were tied for second place prior to the final event which was the 4 x 400M relay. In this relay event, Maryland finished first with a time of 3:45.90 to win second place with 123 points. Riverside finished third with 119 points.
