Tawfiq: Make Sabah proud!

KOTA KINABALU: Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan has reminded the State athletes representing Sabah at the upcoming XVIII Malaysia Sports for the Deaf (SOPMA) 2014 to prepare well ahead of the event.

USA to host Dresse & Maere Cup

USA Deaf Sports Federation (USADSF) announced that International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) give approval for USADSF to host the Dresse & Maere Cup. The world Deaf tennis championships will be held at the Champions Club Tennis Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee this summer from July 14th through July 19th.

The Dresse Cup (men) and Maere Cup (women) was last held in Izmir, Turkey in 2011. Information on countries and individuals competing in the tennis tournament will be released by USADSF when they become available.

Emily Hangstefer honored as 2013 Sportswoman of the Year by USADSF

USA Deaf Sports Federation recognized Emily Hangstefer as the 2013 USADSF Sportswoman of the Year for her oustanding performance at the Deaflympics last summer at Sofia, Bulgaria.
