2016 PANAM Volleyball Regional Qualifiers gets started

2016 PanAm VolleyballThe first day of the 2016 PANAM Volleyball Regional Qualifiers at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC saw all four games wrapped up in straight sets. The tournament got underway with the men’s team of Brazil and Canada. The match was dominated by Brazil who won 25-6, 25-15, 25-12. The second match of the day between the Argentina and Canada women’s team featured the day’s closest game. Argentina had a scare but took the win 25-18, 29-27, 25-22.

The final two games of the day featured the USA men and women teams. First up was the men’s team facing Venezuela. USA had a fight on their hand but managed to take all three games 25-22, 25-20, and 25-17. Despite with several lapses, the USA women closed out the day shutting down Brazil 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.

Patrick Henry graduate ready for volleyball Deaf World Cup

USA Deaf VolleyballSometimes, you have to take the long way to get to your destination. For 2013 Patrick Henry graduate Hunter Taylor, it’s been a road where an unanticipated detour paid off dividends.

Today, Taylor is in Washington, D.C. with the United States National Men’s Deaf Volleyball team, preparing for Opening Ceremonies Wednesday of the ICSD World Deaf Volleyball Championship, followed by competition, in hopes of taking USA Volleyball to new heights.

USA Deaf Volleyball 18U elite team wins Capital bracket

USA Deaf VolleyballThe USA Deaf Volleyball 18U wrapped up their stay at the Volleyball Festival National Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona winning the Capital bracket on Monday.

In the four team bracket, USA Deaf Volleyball 18U had their way with Burns 17-1 in a sweep 25-9 and 25-17. The final game pitted USA Deaf Volleyball 18U against Protege CA 17Michael which went the distance. The USA team missed out taking the first set which went into extra points, 28-26. The last two sets went to USA Deaf Volleyball 18U, 25-17 and 15-9. The team completed the tournament with a 8-4 record and placed 41st out of 58 teams.

Athlete gabrielense will play pre-Olympic and world with the Brazilian National Deaf for Volleyball

2016 PanAm VolleyballThe gabrielense athlete Alexandre Dal Forno compete from this Thursday, June 29, two important tournaments for Men Selection CBDS of Volleyball (Brazilian Confederation of Deaf Sports). He was called among the athletes who will represent Brazil in the PANAM Deaf Volleyball Regional Qualifiers (Regional Qualifying Pan American Deaf Volleyball) and the World Deaf Volleyball Championships (World Deaf Volleyball Championship). Both competitions will take place at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, in the United States.

USA Deaf Volleyball 18U elite team faces stiff competition

USA Deaf VolleyballThe USA Deaf Volleyball 18U hit a roadblock in the final round of pool games at the Volleyball Festival National Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona. After going undefeated in the second round of pool games, the team was unable to carry over the momentum as they dropped two of three matches.

The first 8 a.m. match was against AZ Elite 18 Black which the USA Deaf Volleyball 18U team dropped in straight sets. The next match pitted the elite team against Beach Cities 18 Smack which went the distance but USA Deaf Volleyball came up short dropping the third and final set 15-8. The team pulled out win in the final pool game of the festival against SoCal VBC 18-JT. This match also went the full three sets.

USA Deaf Volleyball 18U will wrap up their stay at the volleyball festival today with two games in bracket play.

USA Deaf Volleyball 18U elite team bounces back

USA Deaf VolleyballThe USA Deaf Volleyball 18U bounced back yesterday at the second day of the Volleyball Festival National Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona this weekend. The team went undefeated in the second round pool with two of the three matches going the distance. Today the team will compete in the third round of pool matches to determine their bracket and seed for final day of completion on Monday.
